Do you ever have trouble deciding on a color palette for your bead work? Let the day decide for you! This morning's sunrise was spectacular. These photos do not do it justice. But wow do they make great color combinations. Check it out:
Sunrise on the ice atop the middle pond....
I did these palettes in about 5 minutes in Adobe CS5.1 using the color picker tool going directy from the photo. Then I print it out and head toward my bead stash. I let this be my color guide for inspiration and choosing my bead colors. I find that I combine colors I might not normally combine otherwise. Mixing seed beads, glass beads, sizes, and textures. I also like then that my bead color palette has a greater connection somehow. I am thankful I can see.
This morning's sunrise was so vibrant I'm glad I was up early.
Just a moment later it had changed completely. It's amazing to witness the shift in the light. When I'm seeing especially at the sunrise or sunset It somehow fills me up with a kind of warmth and satisfaction. Beauty is good for you, like laughter (but different!). Nature's color lights up my eyes and my spirit when I take it in.
Now if I really had my blog thing together below you would see a really cool photo of a fabulous finished necklace done in the above colors! Though today I decided it would be helpful and a good idea if I could find a work surface in my studio again...
But here's here's a start:

Oh my gosh, thank you for your inspirational ideas! I LOVE color and am always referring to nature for color combinations. You did a great job here and I'm so glad I found this post. I'm excited to put palettes together.
